Stührling Original has been around for some time now, but recently the brand has been moving more upmarket and upscale. Take for instance their newest release, the Stührling Imperial Tourbillon 3rd Edition. With a retail price of $2,999.99 it is definitely one of their more expensive pieces, but this is a definite value-for-money purchase. The pieces are entirely Swiss-designed and engineered, and it shows. The sunburst-pattern dials are simple yet elegant.
Unlike previous Stuhrling tourbillons, this edition focuses purely on the tourbillon - there is no 24-hour/GMT dial, and no moonphase dial. The watch is designed to show off the beauty of the tourbillon without any unnecessary appurtenances. Functions are limited to Hour, Minute and Tourbillon Seconds.

The case is large, but not overly so. At 45mm, it is perfectly sized for today's bigness trend. The caseback is transparent, providing a glimpse at the beautiful horizontally aligned Côtes de Genève (or Geneva Stripes), and the winding cogs. Blued-steel screws and movement rubies complete the caseback design. It is a simple and restrained design.
At 13mm thick, the case is not unusually thick, and given its 45mm diameter, the overall case dimensions are perfectly suited to almost any wrist. The large fluted crown makes a satisfying turn and the tourbillon's rotation and audible ticking are quite lovely to view and to hear.
All three iterations of this model (it comes in Rose Tone, Yellow Tone and Silver Tone), are fitted with a Genuine Hand-made alligator strap (made in the USA).

Inoltre quella vista in metallo grezzo nella parte bassa del quadrante è ignobile; vabbè che costa meno di 3mila euro...però a 'sto punto del tourbillon me ne frego!
