A unique niche trend in the luxury watch world are “convertible” timepieces. These are watches that can change their look.
Sometimes the watch face flips over to reveal something else (most notably done by Jaeger-LeCoultre), sometimes bezels can be changes, sometimes there is a highly complex manner that the dial itself actually transforms, and there is the above method of having a precise shutter mechanism that opens to hide a dial below, and present something else (similar to DeGrisogono’s).
Valbray uses a shutter mechanism to hide and reveal a complex dial. The shutter is opened and closed via turning the bezel. Twisting the bezel will open or close the shutter to reveal a blank looking shutter dial, underneath is a more complete dial with the chronograph subdials.

Movement for this watch is the Swiss automatic ETA caliber Valjoux 7750 with many enhancements and modifications (such as the rotor being on ceramic ball bearings). It has an elongated stem in the watch hands that must rise high enough for the shutter system to work.

It is a limited edition of 500 pieces in titanium PVD and 250 pieces in 18kt rose gold. The case measures 47mm and it is water resistant to 30 meters. Both crystals are sapphire.

Potrebbe far impazzire l'amico Giuseppe, (gidi_34) la storia del quadrante/otturatore, sembra fatta apposta per lui, però 47 mm. di diametro, sono veramente troppi per passarci sopra.

Io sono curioso di sapere quali sono queste "many enhancements and modifications" per ora parla solo del rotore su cuscinetti a sfera in ceramica......mah....oltretutto non è nemmeno un minimo decorato...a parte il rotore.....[/color][/font]

oltre al meccanismo per fare aprire e chiudere l'otturatore nientaltro!

Non c'entra nulla il fatto del quadrante...qui parla di movimento.....
