The original Général de Gaulle 1952 watch featured an electronic movement and was not only worn by France's President de Gaulle, but also worn by American Presidents Dwight Einsenhower and Bill Clinton.
This year, the Général de Gaulle 1952 collection is updated with an automatic movement iteration that features either a stainless steel or 18k gold-plated stainless steel case.
Lip also adds a new model to its Himalaya collection, a stainless steel Himalaya with silvered dial. The original Himalaya series was produced from 1954 until 1973. The Himalaya was revived as part of Lip's "History Collection" and only available with a gold-plated stainless steel case in homage to the original 1954 creation. This year, the Himalaya is updated with a stainless steel case and stainless steel hour markers. The Himalaya is considered a French timekeeping reference and partners in numerous sporting events. For example, nine out of ten top French alpinist have worn the Himalaya due to its resistance to the elements and shock. Also, during the cyclist race of the Tour de France, the Lip Himalaya is rewarded to the winner of the day.
