The Legend of the Atlantic Transvolata. A formation of 25 seaplanes, Savoia Marchetti S.55X, set off from Orbetello, Italy for a trip to Chicago and New York, and then back to Rome in 1933. That expedition was organized by Italo Balbo to celebrate the first decade of the Italian Regia Aereonautica.
Technical Specifications:
The case, in stainless steel, measures 42mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a brushed bezel with tachymeter scale and the caseback features a relief of the S.55X seaplane. It is water resistant to 50 meters.
It has a matte black dial with SuperLuminova hands and indices, a date display at 3 o'clock with the Italian flag, and a seconds counter at 6 o'clock with a lancet-shaped helix.
Movement is the Swiss automatic ETA caliber Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 42 hours.
It comes on a tan leather strap with special vintage treatment and customised steel buckle.
It is delivered in a presentation box with a book commemorating the flight.
