Glashütte/Berlin, March 2016. Even if the hands always move in a circle—some wrists simply look better with a square timepiece. For these watch wearers, NOMOS Glashütte is presenting the automatic version of the model Tetra at Baselworld 2016, equipped with DUW 3001; the caliber of the next generation.
The square bestseller is joining the neomatik series, which the watchmaking company brought onto the market in fall last year—the (quickly sold-out) 1st edition was the begin- ning of an entirely new automatic class for NOMOS Glashütte.
DUW 3001, the caliber in these watches, measures only 3.2 millimeters in height, and is thereby thinner than almost anything else in the watchmaking world that self-winds and is produced in series. Tolerances were halved, efficiency and precision were significantly improved thanks to cutting edge research and production methods. And thanks to DUW 3001, Tetra neomatik is also elegantly slender and highly precise. Furthermore, with
its 33-millimeter edges and an updated dial, this classic timepiece is sportier, more mod- ern—as well as more masculine than the hand-wound versions in the model family.
Tetra neomatik comes in two versions at once: one with cyan blue accents on a white silver-plated dial, the other with matching green details on a deep blue dial. In contrast to the watches in the 1st edition, the neomatik logo on both models’ dials is gold, rather than neon-colored.
What has been retained, however, is the beautiful and incredibly long-lasting strap crafted from Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan; remborde and fitted with NOMOS’ own winged clasp, a piece of jewelry in itself.
