Pope Benedict XVI Presented with an Erhard Junghans
Pope Benedict XVI has been given a special gift from his German homeland. The Christian Democrat MP and chairman of the CDU/CSU faction in the Bundestag, Volker Kauder, presented the Pope with a watch by Erhard Junghans during a private audience.
The watch was produced in the politician’s electoral district. The Erhard Junghans company is based in the Black Forest and has been representing ground breaking innovation in watch-making since 1861 following the vision of its founder.
This personal gift, the Erhard Junghans Tempus Automatic, is engraved on the bottom of the watch case with no. 16 and a dedication to the memory of this visit to the Vatican. The enamel white face with filigree Roman numerals is based on the classic style of earlier pocket watches.
