Constellation Double Eagle 4-Counters Orange Gold

The Constellation Double Eagle watches have long celebrated Omega’s close relationship with the game of golf. This year, the popular line has been extended with the introduction of the new 18kt orange gold case model.

Like all of the gold used in OMEGA’s products, orange gold is 18kt, meaning that the metal is composed of 75% gold. It has a high copper content (nearly 24%) which contributes to the vivid orange shade. There is also a trace of platinum which enhances the hardness of the material, and since platinum doesn’t oxidise, it acts to stabilise the color.

Movement is the Swiss automatic Omega in-house caliber Co-Axial 3890, which is COSC-certified as a chronometer chronograph.

The black dial features a truncated inverted “Clous de Paris” motif and its four sub-dials, are arranged across the watch’s face. The counters which gave the watch its name have hands fashioned from 18kt orange gold. From left to right, the sub-dials represent the small seconds, a seven-day recorder and 12-hour and 30-minute counters. The dials features 18kt orange gold facetted hour markers, facetted and truncated Dauphine hands, and applied Omega symbol and name.

It has a solid gold bezel with black rubber Arabic numerals. The crown and pushers are crafted from brushed orange gold and the Omega logo on the crown is polished. The Double Eagle 4-Counters Orange Gold has an integrated black rubber strap with the Omega name in red rubber and a satin-brushed stainless steel foldover clasp.

Beating inside the Omega De Ville 4-Counters is the self-winding Omega Calibre 3890. It has equipped with the brand’s signature a Co-Axial Escapement and the innovative freely sprung balance. The former dramatically reduces friction and thus ensure precision in a long term, while the latter optimize the movement’s isochronism and resistance to shocks. Thanks to the spring barrel, the movement delivers an adorable 52-hour power reserve. The chronograph is able to measure 1/8th of a second due to the rapid frequency of 28,800vph. And Calibre 3890 provides small seconds, seven-day, 12-hour chrono,and 30-minute chrono respectively displayed on the four counters aside from the central hours minutes, days of week and the date. The movement also receives fine decorated finishes such as Cotes de Geneve patterns on the bridges and central winding mass, as well as circular graining on the main plate.
