The new Admiral's Cup Legend 42 features the same metallic (gunmetal) blue color that graced its first modern version in 1983. This tribute is a limited edition.
When the Admiral's Cup was first released in 1960, it immediately established itself as one of the first perfectly water-resistant shaped sports watches. 23 years later, when its design was reinterpreted through adopting its current identity codes 12 nautical pennants from the maritime international code of signals serving as hour-markers, along with a twelve-sided case it became a truly phenomenal success.
The 42mm case and the outer bracelet links metallic blue color is achieved by a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) treatment. It also adorns the lugs, the crown guard and the dial. The latter has a vertical guilloché finish with stylized nautical pennants appearing around the inner bezel ring, The bezel and the central links are made of 18kt rose gold or polished steel.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Corum caliber CO 395. It has a 42-hour power reserve and features a rotor engraved with the Corum logo.
