Based on a 1949 model, the name given to this piece a contraction of "aviation" and "navigation" refers to a navigation system invented during the 1920s.
The case, in stainless steel, measures 44mm (as is the original). It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the Swiss automatic Longines caliber L704.2 (base ETA Valgranges A07-171) with 24 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 48 hours. It features a GMT complication and as in the 1949 model, the movement is encased in a soft iron plate and dome which protect it from the effects of magnetic fields.
The black dial is lacquered and polished, with 11 Arabic numerals, covered with SuperLuminova, and a red 24 hours scale. The hands are rhodium-plated, skeleton baton with SuperLuminova and a red 24-hour diamond-shaped skeleton hand, also with SuperLuminova.
The upper segment of the dial bears the distinctive broad arrow sign, used in the United Kingdom to denote government property, including military equipment such as the watches used by the British army.
It comes on a black alligator strap with a steel buckle.
