Royal Oak Las Vegas Strip Manual Wind Tourbillon with Chronograph
Discerning connoisseurs know the tourbillon as an astonishing technical achievement with a centuries-old history. Historically developed by a master watchmaker to the French royal court in the early 19th century, the tourbillon was originally intended to dramatically improve the performance of a pocket watch by rotating the entire escapement–the heart of the movement which actually keeps time –through a 360 degree circle once per minute, so as to cancel out the timekeeping variations caused by gravity. Today, the tourbillon is presented by the world’s most accomplished houses of watchmaking as a tour de force demonstration of the highest skills. Audemars Piguet combines this noble construction with other sophisticated complications to create the Las Vegas Strip Tourbillon Chronograph. The meticulously finished tourbillon carriage is visible beneath a specially treated red colored bridge affixed to the signature “Mega Ta[word removed]erie” dial. The challenging task of combining a chronograph complication with a tourbillon is executed by Audemars Piguet with world-renowned skill.
This extraordinary combination of complications is housed in a blackened steel Royal Oak case with blackened steel crown and pushers. Presented by Audemars Piguet on a black leather strap with matching blackened steel Audemars Piguet folding clasp in a special presentation box containing two sets of Audemars Piguet playing cards and a full set of poker chips, this ultimate expression of bold artistry and incomparable technical achievement is available in only 35 individually numbered pieces worldwide.
