Stowa owner Jörg Schauer wanted to create a very special limited edition watch to celebrate the 80 year history of the brand, and over the course of the last twelve months he considered a number of possibilities for the ideal watch.
The conclusion was to create a special edition of the watch that has become synonymous with the Stowa name - the Stowa Marine Original.
The new Stowa Marine Original Limited Edition will be made in 80 pieces, and takes all that's great with the standard Marine Original and adds a number of special features.
Jörg has created for this watch a first in the Stowa collection - a white enamel lacquer dial with a traditional German red twelve. The enamel lacquer adds depth and richness to the dial, while the red twelve has historically been used in traditional German pocket and wrist watches as an indication of hand made quality.
Adding to the uniqueness of the dial is the serial number that you choose, which will be applied by hand below the 6.
The movement is based upon a Unitas 6498 with screw balance and swan neck regulation. Decoration is top notch, and features blued screws, perlage and Côte de Genève. Sapphire crystals are featured on both sides of the watch.
Jörg has upgraded the buckle on this series to a Stowa deployant, and the strap to a German made Nappa leather. The case is in 316L stainless steel, and has been matte finished. Each watch will come with a certificate hand signed by Jörg with your name and serial number.
