1939 Pilot
This exclusive design watch was inspired by the pilot's watches of the 1930's, and has a traditional coin edge bezel and matching coin edge back. The case measures 43mm in diameter X 12.6mm thick, and takes a 22mm strap. A thick (1.9mm) sapphire crystal is used on top, while the screw-back features a mineral crystal to view the movement. It is water resistant to 50 meters.
The dial color is reminiscent of American uniforms from WWII, hence the name “GI”. Both the dial and hands use Superluminova. This Pilot's watch comes on a padded and stitched calfskin strap that is hand-made in Germany.
The highly decorated automatic movement is a Swiss-made ETA caliber 2824-2, with features 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 BPH (beats per hour), with hacking capability, and a quickset date. This particular movement is one of the highest grades of the ETA 2824-2 with durable Rhodium finish and is highly decorated with Perlage on the main plates, and Geneva Stripes on the rotor, and features the distinctive Thomas Gref logo. The power reserve is 40 hours.
MSRP is $925.
